Sy-Dang Tran brings 20 years of leadership experience in Financial Planning and Operations in the medical technology and pharmaceutical industries. His background in finance spans the entire R&D lifecycle, from discovery through development to commercialization and launch-readiness, and includes internal research and development, licensing and strategic partnerships. He excels at driving strong finance operations, serving as trusted business partner, and building high performance teams.

Before joining Kivu Bioscience, Sy was Head of R&D Finance at Zai Lab, leading portfolio management, functional and program planning and strategic support for internal development and in-licensed programs. He previously held leadership role as Finance Director at Abbvie, supporting the SF Bay Area operations and Oncology Early Development programs. Sy holds a bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley and MBA from Penn State University, Smeal School of Business.
