Dr. Gavin Choy serves as Executive Vice President of Clinical Development Operations at Kivu Bioscience. He has successfully led early to late-stage clinical development programs across multiple therapeutic areas, including infectious disease, hematology/oncology, immuno-oncology, and oncolytic vaccines.
He also brings 18 years of bedside clinical practice in geriatrics, hematology/oncology, and bone marrow transplantation from institutions such as the Veterans Affairs and Stanford University Hospital. In industry, with over 25 years of experience, he has held key executive roles including Chief Operating Officer at Beyond Cancer, Apollomics, and Adaptive Research, President of CG Pharmaceuticals Inc., and Chief Development Officer at GT Biopharma. He has led cross-functional teams across clinical research, development operations, biometrics, pharmacovigilance, medical writing, clinical pharmacology, legal, and other divisions. Dr. Choy has also raised capital, filed multiple INDs, and supported the commercialization of multiple drug products.
Dr. Choy received his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Southern California and completed geriatric pharmacology residency at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. He also holds an MBA with a focus on healthcare from the University of California, Irvine Paul Merage School of Business.
